If you start paying more attention to your physical functioning, you can - especially in stressful situations - notice all kinds of things. Some interpret these physical reactions in a negative way, e.g. illness or a sign of rising panic. As a result, stress will increase and physical signs grow worse, resulting in a vicious circle.
Remember: everyone will feel tense in a test situation, but this need not adversely affect his/her performance. Worry does greatly influence performance. The thought "I do not want to/must not be nervous" will only get in your way! |
